Reduction of the Workweek to 37.5 Hours

The reduction of the workweek to 37.5 hours is a promise from a political party that will come into effect relatively soon, thanks to an agreement already established between two unions. This measure is expected to be gradually implemented throughout this year so that by the end of 2024, the workweek will have been reduced by one to one and a half hours.

The objective of this measure is to improve work-life balance, provide greater rest for workers, and very importantly, facilitate digital disconnection so that employees can enjoy their free time, whether with their family or friends.

It is important to emphasize that this reform will not affect the current salary of workers. Employees will receive the same salary they currently earn, while working two and a half hours less per week. Furthermore, the minimum wage will remain untouched and will not be reduced, even if fewer hours are worked.

This reform will not affect those groups that, by agreement or contract, already have a workweek of less than 37.5 hours.
